Dr. Wolfgang Burger is head of the materials development department. He has extensive academic and practical experience in colloidal and solid state chemistry. For the last 25 years he has developed new materials based on a variety of oxide materials. Dr. Burger has extensive experience with high purity alumina and partially stabilized zirconia and many recent innovations in high technology oxide ceramics. Dr. Burger is credited with the invention and development of zirconia and platelet reinforced alumina ceramics (ZPTA) with exceptional mechanical properties, which set the standard for many of today’s leading wear parts
in orthopedic applications.

OxiMaTec is closely related to “Graveurbetrieb Leonhardt”. Graveurbetrieb Leonhardt was founded in 1960 and owned and managed by Dr. h. c. Wolfgang Leonhardt who has more than 40years of experience with machining metals, tungsten carbide, graphite, glass and ceramics. Graveurbetrieb Leonhardt is well known for high quality standards, technical competence and reliability for precision parts for the mould manufacturing industry. The company produces mould parts as well as complete moulds for a variety of industries.
